Helen Elizabeth “Sis” Alt

Helen Elizabeth “Sis” Alt, 85, formerly of 54 Auburn Ave. died Thursday, March 29, 2001, at Hillside Acres Nursing Home in Willard.

She was born December15, 1915 in North Auburn, Ohio, the daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Pifher) Alt. Miss Alt was a graduate of New Washington High School. She was a housekeeper for the John Root family of Plymouth, the Bissman family of Mansfield, and the Dr. Price family of Shelby.

She was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Society, and St. Ann’s Society. She was an avid card player and enjoyed gardening. Sis was a special and loving aunt to her nieces and nephews. She is surIvived by three nieces, Donna Jean Hicks of Shelby, Ruth Kouns of Upper Sandusky, Jayne Alt of Bucyrus; three nephews, Ray Alt of Bucyrus, DonaId Alt of Crestline, and Lowell Alt of New Washington; many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Alt.

Calling hours will be on Sunday from 1-4 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home, 168 W. Main St., Shelby, where the rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 9 a.m. at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Father John C. Missler officiating. Burial will be in
Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church.
