Helen Eleanor (Dick) Troxell
Helen Eleanor Troxell, age 84, formerly of Roberts Drive, Shelby, died Friday, May 1, 2009 at the home of her daughter in Bakersfield, Calif.
Helen was born February 27, 1925 in Cass Township, Richland County, Ohio the daughter of the late Scott and Edna (Coe) Dick. She was a 1943 graduate of Greenwich High School. Helen was a 33 year employee of the Ohio Seamless Tube Company in Shelby, retiring in 1982. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Challengers class at the church and was also a member of the American Legion O’Brien Post #326 Ladies Auxiliary all in Shelby. Helen enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Shelby Country Club for many years.
She is survived by a son: Rodney and Jeanette Troxell of Farmington, New Mexico; a daughter: Connie Marie Wright of Bakersfield, California; 5 grandchildren: Trent (Lori) Wright of Yorba Linda, California, Nicole (Trevor) Chunestudy of Bend, Oregon, Colleen (Jason) Wayts of Bakersfield, California, Regina (Jerry) Ballis of Setauket, New York, Tanya (Kevin) Brown of Bloomfield, New Mexico; 10 great grandchildren: Kaden Wright, Aubrey Wright, Abigail Chunestudy, Davis Chunestudy, Haley Wayts, Madilyn Wayts, Nevaeh Wayts, Patrisha Brown, Niomi Brown, Orin Brown. Brothers-in-law, Kenneth Troxell of Dayton and Robert Troxell of Columbus. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale R. Troxell in 1994, a son, Donald Troxell in Vietnam in 1969, and a brother, George Dick.
Friends may call on Friday, May 8, 2009 from 5-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 AM with Rev. Thomas Snyder officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Memorial expressions may be made to Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund in memory of Donald R. Troxell. I am sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. She is another angel in heaven. Your Dad and my Dad worked together at the phone company for many years. I lost my Dad in 2004. Your Dad and my dad are in heaven talking old times. You are in my prayers.
