Hazel G. (Althouse) Hieber

Hazel G. Hieber, age 87, formerly of 68 Harriett Drive, died Sunday in the Fairhaven Community in Upper Sandusky. She was born June 17, 1903 in Eden Township, Wyandot County, Ohio, the daughter of John and Jane (Swinehart) Althouse.

Mrs. Hieber was a homemaker and a member of First Lutheran Church in Shelby.

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and was the last member of her family. She married Earl R. Hieber on May 2, 1929 and he preceded her in dead in 1970. She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Fred and Clarence Althouse and 5 sisters: Gladys Miller, Anna Gipe, Ada Froman, Mary Walton, and Lulu Althouse.

Calling hours will be today from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Turner Funeral Home where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:30 A.M. with the Rev. Howard Stroble, Interim Pastor of Crouse Memorial Lutheran Church in Tiro, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
Memorial expressions may be made to the First Lutheran Church and left in care of the funeral home.
