Hazel D. (Kennedy) Price

Hazel D. Price, age 95, formerly of 47 Fourth Street, died unexpectedly Monday afternoon in the Heritage Care Center. She was born January 21, 1896 in Frankfort, Indiana, the daughter of Fred and Lucia (Mueller) Kennedy.

Mrs. Price was a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and was the superintendant of the primary department for 25 years. She was a charter member of the Patron Mother’s Club, and a member of the Shelby American Legion Auxiliary.

Mrs. Price is survived by a daughter and son-in-law: Diane and John (Dinty) Moore of Shelby; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 sister: Julia Bingaman of Anderson, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Leo E. Price in 1942; a son Leo Jr. in 1990; 2 infant grandchildren; 1 sister, and 4 brothers.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1:00 P.M. at the Turner Funeral Home with the Rev. Canon David S. Sipes, Rector of Grace Episcopal Church in Mansfield, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Friends may call on Thursday from 3:30 P.M -5:00 P.M and 7:00-9:00 P.M. at the Turner Funeral Home.

Memorial expressions may be made to the First United Methodist Church and left in care of the funeral home.
