Hattie F. (Knipp) Edmiston
Hattie F. Edmiston, age 92, of 62 Second Street, Shelby, died early Thursday, March 21, 2002 at Med Central Shelby Hospital. She had been in failing health.
Mrs. Edmiston was born on May 7, 1909 in Head of Grassy, Kentucky the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Cynthia Jane Knipp. She was a former employee of AMF in Shelby and attended both the Taylortown Community Church and Mansfield Faith Assembly.
She was a loving mother and grandmother to 2 daughters and sons-in-law: Louise and Dolson Nolen of Shelby; and Mary and Doug Tackett of Shelby; a daughter-in-law, Rose Edmiston of San Diego, CA; 19 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Tilden Edmiston in 1984, a daughter Betty Dyer, 2 sons: Donald Edmiston and an infant, William Jackson Edmiston; 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Calling hours will be on Friday from 7-9 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, and from 10-11 AM on Saturday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2002, at 11 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Monty Perry and Rev. Joseph Peery officiating. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial expressions may be made to Shelby Home and Public Health.
