Harry Martin Hench
Harry Martin Hench, age 72, formerly of 10 Bradley Avenue, Shelby, died Wednesday evening in Shelby Memorial Hospital after a short illness. He was born March 30, 1918 in Plymouth Township, Richland County, Ohio.
Mr. Hench was a former employee of Shelby Cycle Co. and retired from the Street Dept. of the City of Shelby.
Mr. Hench is survived by 1 daughter: Mrs. Herbert (Caren) Smith of Crestline; 1 son: Gary Luther Hench of Shelby; 5 grandchildren; 1 great grandaughter; 4 step-grandchilren; 5 step-great- grandchildren; 2 sisters: Evelyn Geary of Bellville, and Mrs. Gordon (Virginia) Sorenson of Grove City, Minnesota; 1 brother: Lloyd Albert Hench of Galion; 3 step-sisters: Hazel Morris of Shelby, Effie Swineford of Nova, and Cora Simon of Panarama City, CA; 4 step-brothers: Howard Mitchell of Amherst, Dean Mitchell of Perrysville, and Lester and Raymond Mitchell of Shelby.
He was preceded in death by his wife Arlene (Livsay) Hench in 1947; his parents Martin Hench and Stella (Yohn) Hench Mitchell; 1 son Dennis Hench; 2 brothers: Clarence and Charles Hench.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at the Turner Funeral Horne with Rev. Dave Asp, Pastor of the First Baptist Church in Shelby officiating. Calling hours will be on Friday from
2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Biddle Cemetery in Crawford County.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and left at the funeral home.
