Harrison Thomas Ash, age 63, of 26 1/2 Summit Avenue, Shelby, died Monday afternoon, May 13, 1996, at his home after an extended illness. He was born September 6, 1932 in Olive Hill, Kentucky the son of Preston M. and Nancy E. (Knipp) Ash.

Mr. Ash was a retired plasterer.

He is survived by 4 daughters and 2 sons-in-law, Ruby L. Ash of Shelby, Violet A. and Edward Kaufman of Shelby, Evelyn and Daniel Cattey of Shelby, and Vivian D. Ash of Shelby ; 1 son, Mark A. Ash of Shelby; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 3 sisters,
Catherine Romans of Marengo, Madeline Lowe of Mansfield, Bertha Peyton of Mansfield; 2 brothers, Earl Ash of Mansfield, and Elmer Ash of Mansfield; a half brother, Lynn Ash of Carter City , Kentucky and a half sister, Helen Smith of Carter City, Kentucky; his former wife, Joyce (Malone) Ash of Shelby.

He was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Lois Ballard , 3 brothers, Claude Ash, Glen Ash and Leslie Ash and by 2 sisters, Shirley Ash and Dessie Ash.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Doyle Peyton, Pastor of Westwood Alliance Church in Mansfield officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby.
