Harriett C. (Yarman) Stroup

Harriett C. Stroup, 87, formerly of St. Rt. 39 South, died early Thursday morning in the Heritage Care Center. She was born January 7, 1900 in Shelby, the daughter of Philip and Florence (Strong) Yarman.

She is survived by 2 sons: Paul and Norman, both of Shelby; one daughter, Mrs. Charles (Janice) Boyce of Conyers, Georgia; 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; one sister, Edna Roose of California.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Stroup, in 1954; by 3 sisters and 6 brothers.

Mrs. Stroup was a homemaker, a member of the First Lutheran Church in Sheiby and the Daughters of America.

Funeral service will be held on Monday at 10: 30 A.M. at the Turner Funeral Home with her pastor the Rev. Carl L. Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery Shelby. Friends may call at the funeral home any time after noon on Sunday where the family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M.

Memorial contributions mayy be made to the American Heart Association or the First Lutheran Church and left at the funeral home.
