Harold Gordon Smedley
Harold Gordon Smedley, age 79, of Shiloh, died Friday, April 29, 2011 at his home.
He was born June 28, 1931 in Morehead, Kentucky the son of the late Jesse E. and Hester (Foster) Smedley. Harold retired from Quanex in Shelby and also farmed. He especially enjoyed raising cattle.
He will always be remembered for his friendly and outgoing personality.
Harold is survived by his 2 sons: Harold Jr. (Kathy) Smedley of Plymouth and Marvin (Kim) Smedley of Shelby; a daughter: Vonda (Ben) Patrick of Milan; a step daughter: Sandy (Mike) Hershiser of Shelby; 6 grandchildren: Matthew Smedley, Jeffrey Smedley, Trent Patrick, Tonya Dos Santos, Erin Keefe, and Amy Rinehart; 11 great grandchildren; 2 brothers: Jesse Leroy Smedley and Ronald Smedley; 4 sisters: Mildred Carter, Pauline McKenzie, Ruth Ann Henriquez and Mary Sue Montgomery; 3 step children:
Sue (Don) Limpach, Debbie Townsend, and Ronald Butch (Joyce) Douglas. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife: Virginia Douglas Smedley; a son: Brandon Smedley; a brother: Charles Smedley.
Private family visitation and funeral services will be held.

My heart goes out to Uncle Harold’s children and grandchildren. I will never forget the memories him and I had together. He was a very interesting person. I will NEVER forget the time that he found some of my baby clothes in an old car outside his house and he gave me the clothes. If it was for him I would not have those clothes that mean a lot to me. I will also never forget how highly he spoke of his grandson Matt. He loved him dearly! RIP – Uncle Harold and I too will miss those home grown vegetables that you would always share with my mom and I.
