Harold Davis, age 85, of 20 East Gaylord Avenue, Shelby, died unexpectedly Monday morning in Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Florida. He was born August 17, 1904 in Morrow County, Ohio the son of Frank and Lettie (Truex) Davis.
Mr. Davis was the retired owner of Walt-Ray Motor Sales in Shelby. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Shelby and was a lifetime member of the Shelby Sertoma Club. He was also a member of the Shelby Masonic Lodge #350 F & AM and Shelby Chapter #178 RAM and a 39-year member of Al Koran Shrine.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Evelyn (Hunter) Davis whom he married on October 25, 1930; 1 daughter, Mrs. Darrell (Beverly) Simpkins of Germantown, Ohio; 1 son, Harold H. Davis of Mansfield; 5 grandchildren; 1 brother, John Davis of Shelby; 1 sister, Mrs. Robert (Eileen) Wetz of Shelby; 2 step-brothers: Leslie Ruhl of Shelby and Leland Ruhl of Mansfield.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Turner Funeral Home with his pastor the Rev. James L. Smith, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home where Masonic services will be held at 8:30 p.m.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church and left at the funeral home.
