Harley I. Stout

Harley I. Stout, age 88, of 51 Park Village and formerly of Mansfield Road, Shelby, died Sunday morning in the Heritage Care Center. He was born June 18, 1904 in Greenwich, Ohio, the son of Clarence George and Arlilla (Tilton) Stout. Mr. Stout had been a Shelby resident since 1928 coming from Butler, PA.

Mr. Stout retired July 1, 1969 from the Ohio Steel Tube Company after 41 years of service. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where he held positions as treasurer and chairman of the auditing committee. He was on the Oakland Cemetery Association Board of Directors for many years.

Mr. Stout is survived by 1 grandson, Michael Apger, of Galion; and 1 grandaughter, Lori Sauder, of Mansfield; his son-in-law, Russell Apger, of Hammond, Louisiana; and 4 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Mae (Adams) Stout, in October of 1978 and by his daughter, Vivian Apger in 1984.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday evening from 7-9 P.M. at the Turner Funeral Home where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. with his pastor Rev. Lyle P. Hinkle officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church and left in care of the funeral home.
