Grace R. (Rose) Thompson

Grace R. Thompson, age 78, of 16 West Jefferson Avenue, died Saturday afternoon in Shelby Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. She was born November 30, 1912 in Shelby, the daughter of Cassius and Jessie (Burch) Rose.

Mrs. Thompson is survived by her husband, Robert B. Thompson, whom she married on June 28, 1935; 1 daughter, Mrs. Charles (Sue) Seastrom of New Castle, Delaware; 1 son, Joe Thompson of Shelby; 4 grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Harriet McKinney and Laverne Miller.

Mrs. Thompson was a former employee of The Smart Shoppe in Shelby and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday fom 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Turner Funeral Home where funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 10:30 A.M. by her pastor the Rev. Lyle Hinkle. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shelby Public Health League and left in care of the funeral home.
