Gordon A. Rudolph
Gordon A. Rudolph, age 84, of Shelby, died Sunday, October 24, 2010 at Willard Healthcare Center in Willard.
Mr. Rudolph was born July 20, 1926 in Brookpark, Ohio, the son of the late George and Gladys (Gray) Rudolph. Gordon was an Army veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific Theater. He retired from Columbia Gas Co. as an inspector, serving from 1943 – 1990. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Shelby and the Gasco Club. As a young man, Gordon raised and raced homing pigeons and was a member of the Parma Heights and Cleveland Southwest Concourse Pigeon Clubs. He especially loved gardening and traveling with his wife Evelyn.
Gordon is survived by his children: Sherrie (Ted) Steinman of Big Prairie, OH, Tami (Richard) Dannemiller of Willard, Ronald Rudolph of Phoenix, AZ; 7 grandchildren: Tiffany Wilson, Brandy Dannemiller, Jessica Dannemiller, Andrew Dannemiller, Chris Dannemiller, James (Jessica) Steinman, Jordan Steinman; 5 great grandchildren; a sister: Grace Dossa of Brookpark, OH. He was preceded in death by his wife: Evelyn Klinect Rudolph in 2003.
Visitation, Thursday, October 28, 2010, from 5-8 PM at Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby and on Friday, one hour prior to the 10:30 AM funeral service at First Lutheran Church, 33 Broadway, Shelby, with Rev. David Connor officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Shelby with military honors. Memorial expressions may be made to Willard Healthcare Center.
