Goldie Etheline (Morrow) Went

Goldie Etheline Went, age 90, of 51 Harriette Drive, Shelby, died Friday, March 1, 2002 at the Heritage Care Center in Shelby.

She was born December 18, 1911 in Shelby, the daughter of the late Clyde and Ethel (Wheeler) Morrow. Goldie was a 1929 graduate of Shelby High School and attended Mansfield Business College. She worked at the Shelby Gum Factory and the Shelby Mutual Insurance Company. She had been a life long resident.

After her marriage to Jay F. Went, on June 19, 1934, Goldie was a homemaker. Jay preceded her in death on February 4, 1976. Her two daughters preceded her in death as well, Judie Jan Sockwell on December 28, 1969, and June Kay Drury on June 1,1995.

Goldie is survived by her son-in-law, Dewey Sockwell of Gibsonville, NC and by a nephew and niece, Meredith and Irene Went of Sheridan, IN.

Goldie has donated her body to The Ohio State Medical Center. Memorial expressions in her memory may be made to Marvin Memorial Library and left in care of the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, Ohio 44875.
