Glenn R. Cummings

Glenn R. Cummings, age 81, of Shelby, died Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at his home. He was born December 15, 1930 in Mansfield, Ohio the son of the late Levi and Nellie (Bennett) Cummings.

Mr. Cummings worked for various dairy farms throughout Ohio and retired from Geauga Plastics in Crestline as the maintenance man. In his early y ears, he worked in construction helping to build the Lincoln Highway and other projects. He enjoyed tinkering and repairing automobiles – especially his race car. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

Glenn is survived by his children: Levi Cummings and Connie Bolens of Tiro, Daniel (Tammy) Cummings of Tiro, Randy (Cindee) Cummings of Plymouth, Mark Cummings and Marsha Cummings of Plymouth, Nancy Lewis of Kentucky, Cindy Stanik and Jeff Yeager of Ashland; Numerous Grandchildren and Great grandchildren; Special caregiver: Roy Champion of Shelby. He was preceded in death by his wife: Irene Virginia (Heefner) Cummings on May 24, 2005; a daughter: Linda Irene Bailey on March 26, 2012; 2 sons-in-law: Alan Lewis and Michael W. Bailey; 3 grandchildren: Michael Ray Bailey and 2 infants; siblings: Paul, Fran, Bill and Faye.

Friends may call on Thursday, May 17, 2012 from 6-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home , 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday conducted by Dr. Robert Bloomquist.
