Glen R. “Squye” Brinson

Glen R. “Squye” Brinson, age 88, of 5624 St. Rt. 61, Shelby, died unexpectedly Saturday evening, November 1, 1997, in Med Central Shelby Hospital.

He was born September 8, 1909 in Shiloh, Ohio the son of George and Mary Ellen (Hannan) Brinson. As a young man, Mr. Brinson sheared sheep and worked at the Fate-Root-Heath Company in Plymouth. He was employed as an electrician with Copperweld-Shelby Division retiring in 1971. He also farmed and enjoyed coon hunting. Mr. Brinson was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Shelby.

He is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Mark M. and Leslie Brinson of Greenville, N.C. and Robert L. and Connie Brinson of Shelby; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Sara and William Gregor of Cleveland and Judy and Richard Reed of Shelby; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva (McClellan) Brinson on December 16, 1986, and by 3 brothers, James, Frank, and Maurice Brinson and 1 sister, Lena Egner.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 7-9 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby and also one hour prior to the funeral service which will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Shelby with Rev. D. Evan Houck and Rev. Michael Korte officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh. Memorials may be made to Shelby Home and Public Health or to Caring For You.
