Gladys (Young) Briner

Gladys Briner, age 97, of 3502 London West Road, Shelby, died Sunday, September 7, 1997 in the Crestwood Care Center after a short illness. She was born February 19, 1900 in Ripley Twp., Huron County, to James Lewis and Ella (Huffman) Young.
Mrs. Briner was a homemaker and a member of the Taylortown Community Church.
She is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Catherine Kaylor of Cedar Grove, N.J. and William and Leola Briner of Shelby; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Earl Davis of Orangeville, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Teresa Kaylor of Tiro; sister, Stella Smith of Shelby; 17 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; 16 great great grandchildren; She was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl Kaylor on October 19, 1927; her second husband, Newton Briner on June 19, 1979; a son, James Kaylor; 3 grandchildren, James, Mary and Jimmy Kaylor; 4 brothers; 2 sisters.
Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby. Funeral services will be on Wednesday at 1:30 P.M. at the Taylortown Community Church with Revs. Lee Hiney and O. Douglas Tackett officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church or Hospice of North Central Ohio.
