Gladys L. Cronin
Gladys Louise Cronin, age 84, of Shelby, died Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at her home.
Gladys was born January 17, 1929 in Loudonville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Rufus Jay and Mabel (Pealer) Atherton. She was a graduate of Loudonville High School and worked for Flexible Bus Company in Loudonville. She later retired from Uforma/Shelby Business Forms in Shelby. Gladys enjoyed baking and doing word-search puzzles. She truly cherished visits with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Gladys is survived by 3 daughters: Deb (Tom) Shank of Plymouth, Pam (Dan) Hockley of Shelby, Mary Sheppard of Shelby; 5 grandchildren: Jeremy (Melissa) Shank, Dave (Emilie) Shank, Adam Hockley, Kip (Debbie) Sheppard, Kara Sheppard; 5 great grandchildren: Gabriella Shank, Hailey Sheppard, Caleb Shank, Avett Shank, Kamden Sheppard; one sister: Patricia (Bruce) Larcomb of Westerville; 2 special friends: Esther Oberholtzer, Flossie Burkholder. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Alfred E. Cronin on February 13, 2010; 3 siblings: Rufus Jay Atherton, Jr., Lelia Berry, Thelma Rinehart.
Calling hours will not be observed. Private family services will be held with burial following in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Memorial expressions can be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio. Care for the Cronin family is being provided by the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby.
