Geraldine M. (Brown) Hunt

Geraldine M. Hunt, age 87, of 644 South Gamble Street, Shelby, died Tuesday, June 04, 2002 at the Heritage Care Center after a long illness.

She was born November 29, 1914 in Rockford, Ohio, the daughter of the late Paul and Girchie (Hickey) Brown. Mrs. Hunt was a 1933 graduate of Mechanicsburg High School and attended Urbana University. She was a homemaker and was a former employee of Wilkins Air Force Depot in Shelby. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Hunt is survived by her husband, Howard “Red” Hunt whom she wed on May 27, 1938; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Susan Hunt of Elyria, Ohio; a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Richard Stanfield of Dyersburg, TN; 5 grandchildren and spouses: Shawna and Steve Schaub of Indianaopolis, IN; Tyler Hunt of Columbus, OH; David and Elizabeth Stanfield of Denver, CO; Steven and Samantha Stanfield of Dyersburg, TN; Sherry and Michael Saxon of Memphis, TN; 2 great grandchildren: Elizabeth Ann Stanfield and Christopher Saxon.

She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Clarence and William Brown.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2002, at 1:00 PM at Maple Grove Cemetery in Mechanicsburg, OH. Memorial expressions may be made to the First United Methodist Church. The Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
