Geraldine “Gerry” (Adams) Heckard

Geraldine Gerry Adams Heckerd, age 57, of Tiro, died Friday,
May 26, 2006 in Mansfield.

She was born May 29, 1948 in Chillicothe, Ohio the daughter of Virgil and Thelma (Gayheart) Adams. Gerry was a graduate of Clear Fork High School and went on to further her education at North Central Technical College and in 1977 became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked as an LPN for A to Z Health Care in Mansfield for the past 13 years, where she truly loved working with her patients. Gerry enjoyed bingo, walking, and gardening. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family.

Gerry is survived by her husband, Thomas Heckerd, whom she wed on December 28, 1987; a son, Graig and Laurel Osborne of Mansfield; 2 daughters, Debbie and Robert Laferty, and Denise and Barry White both of Tiro; 10 grandchildren; her mother, Thelma Adams of Shelby; 2 brothers, Virgil Adams, Jr. of Tega Cay, South Carolina, and Roger Adams of Troy, Ohio; 2 sisters, Phyllis Brown of Crestline, and Pauline Longstaff of Bella Vista, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her father, Virgil Adams in 1985.

Friends may on Wednesday, May 31, 2006 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will be conducted on Thursday at 10:30 AM with Rev. S.T. Adkins, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
