Genevia (Buckner) Nickell

Genevia Buckner Nickell, age 71, of 110 West Fourth Street, Mansfield, and formerly of Morehead, Kentucky, died Thursday, March 14, 1996 at her home. She was born October 23, 1924 in Rowan County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Ben and Lizzie (Plank) Buckner.

Mrs. Nickell was a homemaker and a member of the Adams-Plank Church.

She is survived by her husband, William Acy Nickell whom she married on October 6, 1945; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Audrey and Joe Smith of Mansfield, and Fredia and Cliff Rowland of Ashland; 2 brothers, Fred Buckner of Marion, and Fornie Buckner of Crestline; 4 sisters, Nillie McCleese of Crestline, Opal Burkett of Marion, Beulah Brown of Johnsville, and Louise Little of Morehead, Kentucky; 5 grandchildren; 8 Step grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren; and 4 step great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews;

She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Frank and Noah Buckner and 4 sisters, Gladys Cooper, Mary Cooper, Lorrene Buckner and Vernon Catherine Buckner.

Calling hours will be any time after 3 p.m. Saturday at the Northcutt and Son Home for Funerals in Morehead, Kentucky, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, March 18, 1996 with Rev. Harold Nickell and Rev. Larry Joe Nickell officiating. Burial will be in Williams Cemetery, Rowan County, Kentucky.
