Geneva (Workman) Simpson

Geneva Simpson, age 62, of 23 Shelby Villa, Shelby, died early Sunday morning in the Crestwood Care Center in Shelby after an extended illness.

She was born July 28, 1932 in Rowan County, Kentucky, the daughter of Van and Mary (Mann) Workman.

Mrs. Simpson was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband: Roy Simpson whom she married on March 20, 1953; 6 daughters and 4 sons-in-law: Teresa and Rick Covey of Covington, Kentucky, Vanessa and Ken Rowley of Inverness, Florida, Susan and Philip Marsh of Versailles, Kentucky, Denise and Dennis Cantrell of Covington, Kentucky, Lisa Simpson of Shiloh, Ohio, and Gladys Creech of Covington, Kentucky; 2 sons and 1 daughter-in-law: Roy Douglas Simpson of Shelby, Ohio and Jeffrey and Jackie Simpson of Covington, Kentucky; 11 grandchildren; 5 sisters: Elizabeth Hays of Shelby,Ohio, Eva Roberts of Nevada, Ohio, Marie Jones of Carey, Ohio, Isa Caskey of Shelby, Ohio, and Phyllis Ingram of Shelby, Ohio; 2 brothers: Cecil Workman of Shelby, Ohio and George Workman of Morehead. Numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters: Hazel Bays and Clarcie Workman; and 2 brothers: William Workman and Virgil Workman.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday evening after 6:00 P.M. at the Northcutt and Son Funeral Home, Morehead, Kentucky, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 A.M. with Pastor Max Molihan of the Clearfield Tabernacle Church Of God and Pastor Russell Hayes of the Florence First Church Of God. Burial will be in Baldridge Cemetery, Morehead, Kentucky.

Local arrangements were handled by the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby.
