Gene E. Taylor

Gene E. Taylor, age 69, of 3475 State Route 314, Shelby, died Wednesday, November 27, 1996, in Med Central Mansfield Hospital after a long illness. He was born May 3, 1927 in Mansfield, Ohio the son of Floyd Edwin and Lula (Shaw) Taylor.
Mr. Taylor retired from Omni Source in Mansfield. He was a member of teamster Local #9130, A.A.R.P., and was a Navy veteran of W.W. II. He also enjoyed fishing and traveling.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife, Eleanor (Musick) Taylor, whom he married on June 4, 1950; 2 daughters and 1 son-in-law, Gloria Browning of Shelby and Marlene and David Clutter of Shelby; 1 son, Richard Taylor of Shelby; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Glen Taylor of Crestline.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Derek Clutter, a brother, Dale Taylor and a sister, Mercille Seymour.
Calling hours will be on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby, where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Steven Schag, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Shelby, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby.
