Frederick D. Ruckman

Frederick D. Ruckman, 68, of 19 W. Gaylord Ave., died Sunday morning in Shelby Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
Born June 8, 1923, in Shiloh, the son of the late Noel N. and Maude (Bushey) Ruckman. He retired after 27 years of service as a pipefitter at the Mansfield-Ontario CPC plant. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a member of the VFW George Broderick Post 291, Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, and the AARP.
Surviving are his wife, Betty M. (McBride) Ruckman, whom he married Feb. 23 1945; two sons and a daughter-in-law: Richard E. Ruckman of Shelby and Thomas and Mary Ruckman of Bolivar; four grandchildren; and a brother, James Ruckman of Macon, Texas.
He was preceded in death by four brothers.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home where wake services will be held at 8:30 p.m. Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church by the Rev. John C. Missler. Burial will be in Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shelby Public Health League or to the church.
