Fred Grauer

Fred Grauer age 63, of 200 East Main Street, Shelby died unexpectedly early Monday morning at his home. He was born April 28, 1924 in Mansfield.

He is survived by his wife Marilyn (Fireoved) Grauer, whom he married on November 26, 1949; 1 daughter, Mrs. Andrew (Jeanne Ellen) Alingh of Cincinnati; 2 grandsons: Andrew Landis Alingh and Benjamin James Alingh; 2 brothers: Emery J. Grauer of Shiloh and Albert Grauer of Bath, OH; 2 sisters: Mrs. Francis (Catherine) Spangler and Mrs. Elizabeth Loveland both of Shelby; his mother-in-law, Marie C. Fireoved of Shelby; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents John and Elizabeth (Thoma) Grauer, and by 1 brother John.

Mr. Grauer was the owner of Fred Grauer Trucking, and in more recent years, was a farmer. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church, a member of the Board of Directors of the First National Bank of Shelby, a Charter Member of Shelby Elks Lodge, the Shelby Club, The Shelby Country Club, where he was a past member or the Board of Directors.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Turner Funeral Home with his pastor, the Rev. Carl L. Johnson, officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemtery in Shelby. Calling hours will be anytime after 3:00 p.m. Today, where the family will receive friends from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. The Shelby Elks Lodge will hold services at 8:30 p.m.

Memorial expressions may be made to the First Lutheran Church or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
