Fred E. Krocka

Fred E. Krocka, age 76, of 38 Glenwood Drive, Shelby, died Friday evening at his home after an extended illness. He was born June 18, 1916 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of Frank and Mary (Cahnovsky) Krocka.
Mr. Krocka was the former owner of F.E. Krocka and Associates in Shelby. He was the city engineer for the city of Shelby for many years and had been the consulting engineer for Crestline, Bucyrus, and New Washington. He was a member of the Society Of Professional Engineers and Surveyors and was a 1940 graduate of Marquette University with a degree in civil engineering.
He was a member of the First Lutheran Church where he served as treasurer, Sunday school superintendent, and member of church council. He was a past member the Shelby Rotary Club and the Board of Trustees of Shelby Memorial Hospital. He was presently on the board of Park Village. He was a Navy veteran of WWII serving on the USS Suffolk.
He is survived by his wife Opal (Gates) Krocka whom he married on June 24, 1944; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Linda and James Miller of Shelby; 2 granddaughters: Kile Baker and Kari Baker both of Shelby; 1 sister, Irene Drahonovsky of Milwaukee, WI.
Calling hours will be on Monday any time after 12 noon at the Turner Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2-5 and 7-9 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at the First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Steven C. Bond, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby.
Memorial expressions may be made to the First Lutheran Church or to Shelby Memorial Hospital and left in care of the funeral home.
