Franklin Delano Miller

Franklin Delano Miller, age 75, of Shelby, died Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Med Central Mansfield Hospital.
He was born January 18, 1935 in Ripley, West Virginia the son of the late Benjamin Harrison and Nellie Mae (Hammond) Miller. He retired from Miami Systems in Shelby after 45 years of service. After his retirement, Frank drove for Cornell’s Pharmacy. He was a member of Living Stone Church in Shelby. In his retirement years Frank became a professional tinkerer and devoted grandfather. He was proud of his family and grandchildren and enjoyed participating in all of their activities.
Frank is survived by his wife: Shirley Ann (Fackler) Miller, whom he wed on December 7, 1963; 3 sons: Jerry Franklin Miller of Miami, FL, Edward K. and Kathleen Miller of Shelby, and Kevin Lee and Denise Miller of Wooster; a daughter: Tamara L. Miller of Shelby; 8 grandchildren; 1 great grandson. He was preceded in death by: a son: Jeffrey Allen Miller; 2 brothers: Basil Miller and Billy K. Miller; a sister: Gloria Miller; and his faithful canine companion: Angel.
Friends may call on Monday, July 5, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby where funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 11 AM with Pastor Chas Carlisle officiating. I STOPPED AT CHAS AND AMY TONIGHT AND THEY TOLD ME ABOUT FRANK . PLEASE EXCEPT MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY ON YOUR LOSS. Shirley and family so sorry to hear of your loss. Frank was a good man and good to my family in a very tough time.As I think back and remember Frank ,I remember what a good friend he was to dad and how he and Shirley stepped up to the plate when Kevin was sick and took in 4 kids sometimes 24 hrs a day.I always liked playing in the back yard when he would get home from work. You will be in my prayers.
