Franklin C. Kocher

Franklin C. Kocher, age 78, of 13 West End Blvd., Shelby, died Tuesday morning in the Heritage Care Center after and extended illness. He was born September 8, 1910 in Myersdale, PA, the son of Charles and Ida (Meese) Kocher.

Mr. Kocher is survived by his wife, Ruth E. (Young) Kocher, whom he married on July 26, 1935; 2 sons: Gary S. Kocher of Toledo, and Lary L. Kocher of Houston, Texas; 2 daughters: Mrs. Tom (Terry) Bodager of Port Clinton, and Mrs. Steven (Sherry) Price of Findlay; 6 grandchildren; 1 sister, Mrs. Kate Schultz of Akron; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, and 1 sister.

Mr. Kocher was retired from the traffic department of Westinghouse Corp. in Mansfield and he had also worked at Artesian Industries. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Shelby. He was a Marine Veteran serving in China from 1929 to 1934 and later served in WWII.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday at 8:00 P.M. at the Turner Funeral Home with his pastor the Rev. Carl G. Beighly officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held on Friday at 11:00 A.M. at Greenlawn Cemetery in Uniontown, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of the American Heart Association and left at the funeral home.
