Frank D. Mollett

Frank D. Mollett, age 64, of 16 Oak Street, Shelby, died Monday morning at his home after an extened illness. He was born August 17, 1925 in East Point, Kentucky, the son of James W. and Rhoida Alice (Sammons) Mollett.

Mr. Mollett was a coal miner in Kentucky and Virginia before moving to Ohio in 1966. He was employed at the Central Ohio Warehouse in Shelby and Firestone Tire and Rubber in Dayton. He attended Tiro United Baptist Church and was a member of the United Mine workers Union and the United Rubber Workers Union.

Mr. Mollett is survived by his wife Mary (Varner) Mollett whom he married July 1, 1953; 1 son Gary Mollett of Shelby; 7 daughters: Mrs. John (Carol) Wertz of Brandon, FL; Debra Gundrum of Hilliard, Ohio; Mrs. Tom (Evelyn) Kubitz of Columbus, Ohio; Pamela Mollett of Sulphur Springs; Mrs. Jeff (Devone) Williams of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Mrs. Anthony (Tammy) Smith of Shelby; and Michelle
Mollett of Cincinnati, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; 3 sisters: Mrs. Willard (Anna) Ward of Shelby; Loretta Music of Paintsville, Kentucky; and Mrs. Everett (Ruby) Delany of Gallopolis, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, 3 sisters, an infant daughter, and a step-son.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 A.M. at the Turner Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Adkins, Pastor of First Baptist Church in Greenwich, officiating. Burial will be in Crawford County Memory Gardens. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the funeral home.
