Francis John Finn

Francis John Finn, age 74, of 21 Sherwood Drive, Shelby, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, February 25, 2004, at his home.
He was born December 10, 1929 in Dade City, Florida the son of the late Edward and Amelia (Friebel) Finn. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War, serving from December 1947-November 1951 on the USS Leyte CV-32. He retired from General Motors in Ontario in 1993 after 35+ years of service. He was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Shelby, the Shelby American Legion O’Brien Post #326, and was a life member of the Mansfield Men’s Garden Club. John enjoyed gardening, home repairs, and crocheting.
He is survived by his 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Charisse Finn of Shelby and David and Anne Finn of Mansfield; a grandson, Eric Finn; 2 step grandsons, Andrew and Christopher; a brother, Earl Finn of DeSoto, Texas; a sister, Catherine Lux of Shelby; a sister-in-law, Wanetta Finn of Shelby. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Patricia A. (Lindenberg) Finn on August 1, 1999 and by 3 brothers, Edward, Joseph and Frederick Finn.
Friends may call on Friday, February 27, 2004 from 5-7 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where a Christian Wake Service will be conducted at 7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 AM at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Shelby with Father Nick Cunningham officiating. Burial will be in Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Cemetery with military honors conducted by Shelby American Legion. Memorial expressions may be made to the church or to the Salvation Army and left in care of the funeral home.
