Foster J. Leapley, Sr.
Foster J. Leapley,Sr., age 85, of 7792 Plymouth-Springmill Road, Plymouth, died Thursday evening in the Crestwood Care Center. He was born December 10, 1907 in Morrow County, Ohio, the son of Robert and Margaret (Stinhelfer) Leapley.
Mr. Leapley was a retired farmer and had been the owner of Leapley Lakes on Opdyke Road in Plymouth from 1960 to 1990. He was a member of the area CB Club and the State of Ohio Archeological Club. He was an avid metal detector and reader of history and Indian lore.
Mr. Leapley is survived by 3 daughters and 2 sons-in-law: Doris and Ivan Rhodes of Plymouth, Mary J. Busic of Shelby, and Frances and Tom Aldrich of Rising Sun, Ohio; 2 sons and daughters-in-law: Foster Jr. and Shirley Leapley of Yoder, Colorado, and Sam and Betty Leapley of Mansfield; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers: James Leapley of Bellville, Gaylord Leapley of Galion, Martin Leapley of Seattle, Washington, and Eugene Leapley of Bucyrus; 2 sisters: Martha Leapley of California, and Ruby Miller of Columbus, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his wife Hennrietta (Francens) Leapley in 1967, and by 1 brother, 7 sisters, and 3 grandchildren.
Calling hours will be on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby where funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:30 A.M. with Rev. C. Reid Miller, Pastor of the First Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth.
