Florence “Florey” (Derowski) Gilbo Westerkamp

Florence (Florey) Virginia Westerkamp, age 90, of 38 Plum Avenue, Shelby died Monday, March 14, 2005 at the Crestwood Care Center.

Florey was born January 13, 1915 in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Levnow) Derowski. She was a former employee of Park-Davis Pharmaceutical Company in Detroit. She was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Altar Rosary Society, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and Golden Agers Club.

Florey is survived by a brother, Edward Derowski, who made his home with her, of Shelby, daughter-in-law, Rosalino Gilbo of Rockville, MD, and a step-daughter, Delores Worsham of New Market, MD. 2 grandchildren and 1 step-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Frederick Westerkamp in 1979, 2 brothers, Frank and Earl Derowski, and a son Patrick Gilbo in Sept. 2000.

Friends may call on Friday, March 18, 2005 from 6-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:30 AM at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Father Nick Cunningham officiating. Burial will be in Most Pure Heart of Mary Cemetery. Memorial expressions may be made to the church.
