Farnum M. “Buck” Reeder, Sr.
Farnum M. “Buck” Reeder, Sr., age 70, of 171 Euclid Street in Shiloh, died Sunday afternoon in Shelby Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. He was born February 10, 1923 in Logan County, West Virginia, the son of Wayne and Eva (Thompson) Reeder.
Mr. Reeder was a retired 18-year electrician from Empire Detroit Steel in Mansfield and had worked for 10 years at the Good Year Atomic Corp. in Piketon, Ohio. He was presently serving a term on the Shiloh Village Council where he previously was council president and village administrator. He was an avid outdoorsman. He was an Army veteran of WWII.
Mr. Reeder is survived by his wife, Sarah Moon Laser Reeder, whom he married on April 9, 1971; 3 sons: Tom Laser of Ogden, Utah, Jeff Laser of Spokane, Washington, and Farnum Reeder, Jr. of Franklin Furnace, Ohio; 5 daughters: Sandy Mowry of Shelby, Penny Whisman of Liberty, Texas, Sondra K. Eshem of Portsmouth, Ohio, Mary Ann Smith and Becky Murphy both of South Webster, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers: Richard Reeder of Shelby, and Wayne Junior Reeder of Wheelersburg, Ohio; 3 sisters: Mildred Hosey and Fern Mauk both of Wheelersburg, Ohio and Alice Neff of Sciotodale, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday at 1:00 P.M. at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street in Shelby with his nephew, Father David Gwinner, Associate Pastor of St. Pius Catholic Church in Reynoldsburg, Ohio officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
