Eunice W. Mayer

Eunice W. Mayer, age 90, of 2124 Park Avenue West, Mansfield, and formerly of 94 West Main Street, Shelby, died Monday, December 27, 1999 at Med Central Mansfield Hospital after a short illness.
Miss Mayer was born July 22, 1909 in Shelby, the daughter of Frank ‘Jim’ and Caroline (Guenther) Mayer. She was a graduate of Shelby High School in 1927 and also of The Ohio State School of Nursing in Columbus. She was a nurse all of her life having served in various hospitals all over the United States and was the director of the School of Nursing in Alton, IL. She was a member of Most Pure heart Of Mary Catholic Church. She enjoyed knitting and was an avid reader.
She is survived by a sister, Jane Haun of Gahanna, OH; 2 nieces and spouse: Pam Haun of Gahanna, OH, and Lynn and Fred Cooke of Shelby; 2 great-nieces and spouse: Kelly and Brandon DeVito and Allison Cooke; 1 great nephew, Charlie Cooke.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Bill Mayer; and a sister, Dorma Miller.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 30, 1999 from noon until 12:45 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street in Shelby. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 1:00 PM at Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Church in Shelby with Father John C. Missler officiating. Burial will be in Most Pure Heart Of Mary Cemetery. Memorial expressions may be made to Shelby Home and Public Health.
