Eunice E. (Hawk) Davis

Eunice Eleanor (Hawk) Davis, age 82, of George Hawk Road, Shelby, died Thursday, February 22, 2007 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice in New Port Ritchey, Florida after a brief illness.

She was born, March 10, 1924 in Jackson Township, Richland County, Ohio, the youngest daughter of the late Howard Lewis and Flossie Faye (Stover) Hawk. She was a 1942 graduate of Shelby High School. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Shelby where she had been a deacon, session member, and circle leader. She was a member of Shelby Senior Center and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for over 50 years. She was a Meals on Wheels driver and a Red Cross volunteer at Med Central Shelby Hospital for 18 years. Eunice was a homemaker and was employed at Roethlisberger Transfer from 1941-1949 and at Lazarus in the Richland Mall from 1969-1988.

Eunice is survived by her 3 sons and spouses, Jeffrey L. and Katie Davis of Marathon, Florida, Mark D. and Regina Davis of Cincinnati, Ohio, Bruce B. and Barbara Davis of Copley, Ohio; 4 grandchildren, Maggie Davis of Buena Vista, Colorado, Greg Davis of Columbus, Benjamin and Cameron Davis both of Copley; 1 step granddaughter, Amy Krownapple of Apple Valley, Ohio; 3 step great grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Don Yarman of New Port Richey, Florida; her loyal companion, Don Ralston of Mansfield; 2 sisters-in-law, Edith Hawk of Marion and Dorothy Hawk of Shelby. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Floyd Davis on June 24, 1982, 3 brothers, Donald, Stewart and Robert Hawk, a sister, Irene Danine and a nephew, Gary Yarman.

Friends may call on Tuesday, February 27, 2007 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church in Shelby with Rev. James Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. Memorial expressions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Meals on Wheels or to Hernando-Pasco Hospice.
