Eugene C. Patton
Eugene C. Patton, age 78, of 39 West End Blvd., Shelby, died at 5:35 P.M. Friday in Mansfield Memorial Homes after an extended illness. He was born November 24, 1910 in Morehead, Kentucky, the son of Alex and Nannie Bell (Turner) Patton.
Mr. Patton was a carpenter with Carpenter’s Local #735 in Mansfield with 35 years of service. Prior to that, he had been employed at the Ohio Steel Tube Company. He attended the First Church Of The Nazarene, was a member of the Shelby Eagles, and was an Army veteran of WWII.
Mr. Patton is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen (Danals) Patton, whom he married on February 12, 1938; 1 son, Russell Patton of Perrysburg, Ohio; 1 daughter, Mrs. Leonard (Gene Ellen) Budd of Baraboo, Wisconsin; 4 grandchildren; 2 brothers: Robert Patton of Shiloh, and Wilbur Patton of Oaklahoma City, Oaklahoma; 1 sister, Berchie Johnson of Shelby.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sons: Gerald and Raymond Patton; 2 brothers, and 1 sister.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at the First Church Of The Nazarene in Shelby with the Rev. B.T. Richardson officiating. Friends may call on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Turner Funeral Home.
Memorial expressions may be made to the First Church Of The Nazarene and left at the funeral home.
