Ethel Ann (Tucker) Ebersold
Ethel Ann Ebersold, age 91, formerly of Park Village, Shelby, died Tuesday afternoon in the Heritage Care Center after a long illness. She was born November 14, 1903 in Mifflin Township, Richland County the daughter of Norman Webster and Marilla (Gatton) Tucker.
Mrs. Ebersold retired as a school teacher from the Port Clinton School System and was a former librarian in the Bedford City School System. She and her husband were former owners of Ebersold Funeral Home in Bedford. Mrs Ebersold was a member of the First Lutheran Church and Shelby A.A.R.P.
She received a bachelor of science degree in education from the Ohio State University and a masters degree in library science from Case Western Reserve .
Mrs. Ebersold is survived by 1 daughter and son-in-law, Marge and Richard Wheeler of Shelby; 1 son and daughter-in-law, Ted and Pam Ebersold of Southfield, Michigan; 4 grandchildren , Rebecca Wheeler, Kyle Wheeler, Audrey Critchlow, Eric Ebersold; 2 step – grandchildren, Stephanie Crawford and Emily Crawford; 3 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Leo Tucker of Shelby.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Ebersold in 1957, 2 brothers, Cyrus Tucker and George Tucker and by 3 sisters, Lela Winbigler, Mary Young, and Belva Harrison.
Friends may call on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby, and also one hour prior to the funeral services which will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, with her pastor Rev. D. Evan Houck, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby.
Memorial expressions may be made to the First Lutheran Church and left in care of the funeral home.
