Esther A. (Grieves) Shook

Esther A. Shook age 78, of 3343 State Route 39, Shelby, died unexpectedly at her home. She was born December 14, 1909 in Springfield, Ohio, the daughter of Henry and Louellyn (Cole) Grieves. She had been a resident of Shelby since 1937.

Mrs. Shook is survived by her daughter, Martha Jean Van Meter of Cincinnati; 2 grandchildren; 1 sister: Edna Knisley of Springfield.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Charles Shook, in April of 1987; and by 3 brothers.

Mrs. Shook had been a furniture sales woman at Shelby Furniture for many years, retiring from Oneil’s in Mansfield. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and Daughters of America.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2:00 P.M. at the Turner Funeral Home with her pastor the Rev. J. Malcolm Brook, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call from 1:30P.M. Sunday until the time of the services.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association and left at the funeral home.
