Ernest J. Biglin
Ernest J. Biglin, 71, of 2 Myers Ave., died Wednesday morning in Shelby Memorial Hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack at home.
Born Feb. 15, 1917, in Shelby Settlement to the late Charles and Estella (Finnegan) Biglin, he retired from Ohio Steel Tube Co. after 40 years of service. Mr. Biglin was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Shelby Moose Lodge, Steelworkers Retirees Club and SOAR. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Dolores Heiland Biglin, whom he married Jan. 10, 1942; a son, Charles “Butch” of Shelby; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Jeanne) Metzger of Shelby and Judy Biglin, at home; four grandchildren; a brother, Melvin of Shelby; and a sister, Mrs. Paul (Kathleen) Gosser, of Shelby. He was preceded in death by one brother, Cecil, and by two sisters: Vera Gwirtz and Marion Biglin.
Calling hours will be Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home, where a wake service is planned for 8:30. Funeral Mass will be recited Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church by the Rev. Bernard Kokocinski. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church’s Memorial Fund or the American Heart Association and left at the funeral home.
