Emma Marie (Freed) Von Stein

Emma Marie Von Stein, age 76, of Tiro, died Thursday, June 25, 2009 at Med Central Mansfield Hospital.

She was born July 7, 1932 in Van Buren Township, Hancock County, Ohio the daughter of Loren Stanley and Zelma Freda (Rodabaugh) Freed. She was a 1950 graduate of Dola High School in Dola, Ohio. Emma was a homemaker and lovingly assisted her husband on the family farm for 55 years. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Shelby.

Emma is survived by her husband: Howard D. Von Stein, whom she wed on May 10, 1953; Her children: Ron and Ruth Von Stein of Shelby, Edward Von Stein of Tiro, Eric and Jodie Von Stein of Tiro, Patricia and Geoff Holland of West Palm Beach, Florida; 6 grandchildren: Toby, Roy, CeCelia, Dawson, Abbie and Emily Von Stein; 2 brothers: John Freed of Jenera, LaVerne and Sara Mae Freed of Forest. She was preceded in death by a son Gregory Von Stein.

Friends may call on Sunday, June 28, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby. Funeral services will be on Monday at 11 AM at First Lutheran Church with Rev. Steven C. Bond officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Memorial expressions may be made to ABC Center @ First Lutheran Church or Home Care Matters in Galion.
