Emery John Grauer
Emery John Grauer, 75, of 1200 Ganges East Road, Shiloh, died Thursday, December 25, 1997, at his home after a short illness.
He was born October 7, 1922, in Mansfield, the son of John and Elizabeth (Thoma) Grauer. Mr. Grauer was a grain and livestock farmer all of his life, having owned Twin Oak Farms. He was a 1941 graduate of Union High School and was an army veteran of World War II. He attended First United Methodist Church in Shelby , was a member of Shelby American Legion O’Brien Post #326, and the Richland County Farm Bureau. He enjoyed woodworking and wood carving.
Mr. Grauer is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Stimpert) Grauer, whom he married on April 7, 1951. 1 son and daughter-in-law, David and Tammy Grauer of Shiloh; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Sara and Jim Sloan of Shelby; 7 grandchildren; 1 brother, Albert Grauer of Bath, Ohio; 2 sisters, Catherine Spangler of Shelby and Betty Loveland of Shelby. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, John Grauer and Fred Grauer.
Calling hours will be on Sunday from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Jeff Matthews, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Memorials may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio or to the First United Methodist Church.
