Elmer W. Seaman

Elmer W. Seaman, age 73, of 1976 State Route 96 East, Shelby, died Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at his home after an extened illness. He was born July 24, 1913 in Shiloh, the son of Frank S. and Dora (McCormick) Seaman.

Mr. Seaman is survived by his wife, Gertrude (Stevens) Seaman whom he married on August 1, 1934; 1 son: Arthur Seaman of Shelby; 3 daughters: Mrs. Joe (Eltrude) Bodkin of State College, PA, Mrs. Tom (Sara) Laser of Carlisle, PA, and Mrs. Greg (Pam) Davis of Shelby; 9 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; 1 brother: Marion Seaman of Shiloh; and 1 sister: Mrs. Bill (Mary) Wilson of Shelby.

He was preceded in death by his brother Lester in 1986.

Mr. Seaman was a retired employee of the Shelby Business forms and prior to that had been a meat cutter. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Shelby, and the Shelby American Legion O’Brian Post # 326, and the Greater Cleveland Vizsla Club. He was a Navy veteran of WWII.

Graveside services will be held Monday at 11: 00 A.M. at Oakland Cemetery in Shelby with his pastor the Rev. Dr. Carl L. Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday afternoon from 1-3 p.m. in the parlor at the First Lutheran Church in Shelby.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Lutheran Church, the Shelby Public Health League or the American Cancer Society and left at the Turner Funeral Home who is in charge of the arrangements.
