Elma Iona (Lepard) Kenton
Elma Iona Kenton, age 96, formerly of East Main Street, Shelby, died Thursday, March 20, 2008, at Brethren Care Village in Ashland.
She was born November 22, 1911 in Attica, Ohio the daughter of the late Dee and Clara Emma (Slessman) Lepard. She was a graduate of Attica High School and worked for 28 years as a presser at Snowhite Cleaners in Shelby. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Shelby where she was a member of the Ruth Gleaner’s Sunday School Class and the Neoma Circle. She was an associate member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Ashland and a member of the Shelby Moose Auxiliary.
Elma is survived by her children and their spouses, Hobart and Eunice Kenton of Cabot, Pennsylvania, Martha Alice Roberts of Tangerine, Florida, Georgia Ann Fagan of Shelby, Karen Feiann and Winfred Boyd of Ashland and Patty Kenton of Naperville, Illinois; 16 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Annabel Lepard of Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Hobart Lepard; 4 sisters, Pearl Bagley, Virnetia Diller, Mary Lepard, and Glendora Zellner, her husband, Walter M. Kenton in 1995, a son, Burton Jim Kenton in 2002 and 2 sons-in-law, Robert Roberts in 2006 and Leonard Fagan in 2007.
Friends may call on Monday, March 24, 2008 from 10:00 -11:00 AM at the First Lutheran Church, 33 Broadway, Shelby where funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM by Rev. Robert Pflueger, Associate Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Memorial expressions may be made to First Lutheran Church or the Shelby Y Community Center.
