Ella Alvenia (Jenkins) Argo

Ella Alvenia Argo, 84, of 55 Park Village died early Thursday morning, April 4, 2002, at Heritage Care Center after a short illness.
Mrs. Argo was born December 24, 1917 in Shelby, the daughter of the late Clyde and Ethel (Rigg) Jenkins. She retired in 1984 from Shelby Memorial Hospital after 27 years of service, having worked in the sterilization department. She and her husband Fuzz operated a candy store from their home on West Park Drive for many years.
She is survived by three sons and four daughters-in-law: Don and Virginia Argo of Shelby, Ron and Diane Argo of Florida, Rex and Donna Argo of Mansfield and Sandy Argo of California; three daughters and sons-in-law: Sandra and Jack Mount of Florida, Debbi and Chuck Eshelman of Shelby and Penny and Dennis Collins of Shelby; 20 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Ernest Jenkins of Huron; five sisters: Beatrice Hall, Sylvia Argo and Mae Cattey, all of Shelby, Clara Mosley of Bucyrus and Gladys Durfee of Mansfield.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Aril “Fuzz” Argo in 1993; son, Gary Argo in 1998; grand-daughter, Heidi Mount in 1990; grandson, Mike Eshelman in 1984; and sister, Eunice Clabaugh.
Calling hours will be Friday, April 5, 2002 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 W. Main St., Shelby, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Herman King, Pastor of Grace Valley Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Memorial expressions may be made to Shelby Home and Public Health.
