Elizabeth L. (Racer) Pitcher

Elizabeth L. Pitcher, age 77, of 69 Smiley Gardens, Shelby, died unexpectedly, Friday afternoon, July 24, 1998 at Med Central Mansfield Hospital.

Mrs. Pitcher was born October 19, 1920 in Jackson Township, Richland County, Ohio the daughter of Theodore and Sarah Isabel (Ashworth) Racer. She was the former assistant manager at Vic’s Drycleaners in Shelby. She was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and was a former member of the church choir. She enjoyed bowling, sewing and playing cards. On July 20, 1939 she married Quentin Edward Pitcher and he preceded her in death on November 8, 1997. She was also preceded in death by her parents and 3 brother, Raymond, Edgar and Howard Racer.

Mrs. Pitcher is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Caryl and Ronald Schull of Gahanna, Ohio; and a brother, Woodrow Racer of Shelby.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Shelby with Father John C. Missler officiating. Friends may call at the Turner Funeral Home from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. Burial will be in Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Cemetery. Memorial expressions may be made to Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
