Eliza Jane (Crisp) Brown
Eliza Jane Brown, age 95, formerly of 104 Shelby Avenue, Shelby, died Saturday, January 31, 1998 in the Crestwood Care Center after a long illness.
She was born August 19, 1902 in Elliotsville, Kentucky the daughter of Epp and Julia Ann (Black) Crisp. Mrs. Brown was a homemaker and was a former employee of the Wilkens Air Force Depot. She was a member of the First Church of God in Haldeman, Kentucky.
Mrs. Brown is survived by 4 sons and daughters-in-law, Oliver and WinnaJean Brown of Fairborn, Ohio; Elbert and Dorothy Brown of Shelby; Charles and Ivalean Brown of Plymouth; and Paul and Jewell Brown of Shelby; 3 daughters and 2 sons-in-law, Julia Carpenter of Shelby; Oma and Bill Markwell of Shelby and Manda and Amos Williams of Newark, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; 2 brothers, Emil Crisp of Niles, Ohio; Marvin Crisp of Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Brown in 1960; 4 brothers, Arnold, Virgil , Glenn and Elmer Crisp; and 2 sisters, Pearl Hamilton and Arlie Ferguson.
Calling hours will be on Monday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby, where funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, with Rev. O. Douglas Tackett, Pastor of Taylortown Community Church, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Memorial expressions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
