Eleanor Yvonne Dininger

Eleanor Yvonne Dininger, age 75, of 85 Walnut Street, Shelby, died Thursday, March 06, 2003 at the Mifflin Care Center in Mansfield.

She was born January 23, 1928 in Shelby the daughter of the late Chester and Margaret (Foraker) Ervin. Mrs. Dininger was a 1947 graduate of Shelby High School. She was a retired employee of Shelby Daily Globe and prior to that she had been the manager at Neikirk’s Five and Dime and had worked at Ben Franklin and the Peoples Store. Eleanor was and active member of the First United Methodist Church where she served on the Administrative Board, United Methodist Women and other committees, held various offices in the Shelby Moose Lodge and participated with the Class of ’47 Lunch Bunch.

Eleanor is survived by her sons and spouses, Alan and Diane Dininger of Shelby and Bob and Sue Dininger of Plymouth; 4 grandchildren and spouse, Eric and Shawndi Dininger, Bob, Jenny and Jerry Dininger; 3 great grandchildren, Dillon and Amanda Dininger and Demetrius Mapes; a sister-in-law, Ruth Ervin of Shelby. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Earl Dininger in 1981 and by a brother, Edwin Ervin.

Calling hours will be on Sunday, March 9, 2003, from 2-5 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:30 AM with Rev. Carl G. Beighley officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Memorial expressions may be made to the church or Hospice of North Central Ohio.
