Eleanor Jean (Swavel) Smith

Eleanor Jean Smith, of 53 Renfrew Drive, died Tuesday morning in Mansfield General Hospital after an extended illness. She was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, the daughter of Paul Brooks and Mercedith (Morrison) Swavel.

Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church, Rizpah Chapter #153 Order of The Eastern Star, AARP, and the Chapter of Laureatte Alpha Omicron of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, David P. Smith, with whom she celebrated 40 years of marriage on August 31, 1991; 1 daughter and son-in-law: Norman and Cathy Miller of Bloomville, Ohio; 2 grandsons: Brandon Allen and Ryan Miller. She was preceded in death by her parents, and by a brother, Morris Swavel.

Calling hours will be on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Turner Funeral Home where funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:30 A.M. with her pastor, the Rev. Lyle Hinkle, officiating. Graveside services will be held on Monday at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg,Ohio.

Memorial expressions may be made to the Shelby Public Health league and left in care of the funeral home.
