Eldon L. Heck

Eldon L. Heck, age 87, of 75 Park Village, Shelby, died Saturday afternoon in the Crestwood Care Center in Mansfield. Mr. Heck had been in failing health for the past two years. He was born November 9, 1901 in Fostoria, Ohio, the son of Byron G. and Lola (Burgan) Heck.

Mr. Heck is survived by his wife of 61 years, Gertrude (Montz) Heck; 1 daughter: Mrs. Richard (Joyce) DeWalt of Shelby; 2 sons: David L. Heck of Endicott, NY, and Warren E. Heck of Shelby; 8 grandsons.

He was preceded in death by 1 daughter: Emily Heck Olmsted and 1 brother.

Mr. Heck retired as the order department manager in 1967 from the former Shelby Salesbook Co. after 48 years of service. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church where he had been a Sunday School teacher for many years. He was a member ot the Inter City Radio Club, the Quarter Century Club, and Union Grange #1648.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at the First Lutheran Church by his pastor, the Rev. Dr. Carl L. Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery in Sycamore, Ohio. Calling hours will be today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home.
