Edwin Z. Martin, age 57, of 7527 Heifner Road, Shiloh, died Tuesday, August 14, 2007, at St. Anne Mercy Hospital in Toledo following a few weeks illness.
Mr. Martin was born on June 12, 1950 in Lancaster County, PA. He is the son of Aaron I. Martin, of Ephrata, PA, and the late Lizzie R. (Zimmerman) Martin.
He was a retired farmer and a member of the Blooming Grove Mennonite Church.
On January 25, 1973, he married Leah L. (Zimmerman) Martin, who survives him. Also surviving are 3 sons, Lavon and Virginia Martin, of Plymouth, Elvin and Mabel Martin, of Shiloh, Edwin Jr. and Linda Martin, of Plymouth; 3 daughters, Lucy, wife of Ivan Burkholder, of Shiloh, Lucinda, wife of Leroy Burkholder, of Greenwich, Ella Mae, wife of Leroy Zimmerman, of Carson City, MI.; 4 sisters, Anna, wife of Isaac Nolt, of New Holland, PA, Lydia Ann Martin, of Ephrata, PA, Ruth, wife of Weaver Burkholder, of Walnut Bottom, PA, Lucy, wife of Raymond Newswanger, Shippensburg, PA; 6 brothers, John and Alta Martin, of Shippensburg, PA, Aaron and Miriam Martin, of Walnut Bottom, PA, Weaver and Mary Martin, of Newville, PA, Ammon and Mary Anna Martin, of Thorp, WI, Allen and Arlene Martin, of Shippensburg, PA, Mahlon and Arlene Martin, of Ephrata, PA; and 22 grandchildren.
Friends may call at the family home on Heifner Road, on Friday, August 17, 2007 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be on Saturday, at 9:30 AM, at the Blooming Grove Mennonite Church, on Free Road, Shiloh with Bishop Ammon Burkholder officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. The Turner Funeral Home in Shelby is assisting family with arrangements.
